We Got New Puppies!
Recently the excitement around here–besides Easter, of course!–has been getting to know and love our new future watch dog puppies!
Gracie and Paolo
Hats off (NOT LITERALLY) to Gracie and Paolo who have done a great job all these years, but they are ready to retire and enjoy their last years leisurely resting by the back doors of the monastery. Their heath has gone down considerably, but thankfully they are content as long as we keep letting them know they are well-loved.

Meet Toby and Sadie
These two little black bundles are full of energy as any playful puppy would be! It has been fun watching them wrestle and play, and even tackle us with their love and slobbery kisses! Sadie, the girl, has that tactic of winning you over as she affectionately lays her head on your lap and looks at you with those beautiful, brown eyes, and then licks you in the face or hand. Toby is “all boy” and loves to play, roll over and jump in the pond out back. They both love to hunt, Sadie bringing back to us a dead frog and another time playing “come and try to get it from me” with Toby as she teased him with a poor, baby rabbit.
We can tell they will be good watch dogs by their behaviors already. They pipe up at any alien sound or any visitor to the gate. They are both mixed breeds of Labrador Retriever.
First Day to their new home, already addicted to human attention. Sadie (girl) and Toby (boy) First time swimming (Toby in water)! Toby on left, Sadie on right. Now all we need are wedding bands! Sr. Lucia: “Yeah, kids. This is what it’s like living behind bars.”

God bless you all!
