Happy Easter!

Alleluia! He is risen!

The prayer or Holy Mother Church chants aloud this morning in Lauds:

Antiphon 1:
The splendor of Christ risen from the dead has shone on the people redeemed by his blood, alleluia.

Antiphon 2:
Our Redeemer has risen from the tomb; let us sing a hymn of praise to the Lord our God, alleluia.

Antiphon 3:
Alleluia, the Lord is risen as he promised, alleluia.

Happy Easter to all!

Easter Vigil Mass last night brought us finally the joy we have been awaiting, the Light of Christ piercing the darkness of sin and death!  Death has no more power over us, thanks be to God! And sin has been defeated in the blood of the Lamb! Let us live as the new creature in Christ, dead to sin and alive in Him.

After the Vigil we keep the tradition of meeting in the refectory for Sr. Lucia's homemade Easter sweet bread. Then we marvel over the beautifully decorated Easter Eggs made for us by Tom, Ben, Sue and Miles, some friends of the community. Aren't they lovely?

Oh--we also have the homemade hot chocolate made by Sr. Andrea. After all the sugar we try to take a short night's sleep until the morning calls us to prayer and Mass at 7 a.m. to celebrate again!

God bless you all in the our Risen Lord!
