Solemn Profession of Vows and Veiling

With the background of falling leaves and color just outside the windows of the chapel, a church full of people witnessed the Solemn Vows of a Bride to her Beloved King, who is also a God and a Good Shepherd.

Sr. Anu Maria Jose of the Good Shepherd said “for ever” to Almighty God on the Solemnity of Christ the King, November 25, 2018. After six years of prayer and discernment in our Carmelite Monastery here in Little Rock, Arkansas, the day had come to make her final commitment through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

It was a moving and beautiful occasion full of gifts of love from many people who love her, from both near and far, and Sr. Anu Maria wants to thank everyone who attended the Mass and Reception, and all those who took part in making it a grace-filled and happy occasion.

Now for the pictures and videos, which you may have been looking for already. God bless you for waiting. We are grateful to Robert Alexander and Susan Holmes for sharing their photos with us.

Above: Sr. Anu Maria is welcomed by the community as a fully professed member.

Sung in her native language of Malayalam by the four Missionaries of Charity sisters here in Little Rock and some friends, she enjoys this gift during her Solemn Profession ceremony.
