Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Novena Photos

After quite a break we’re back to share some photos taken during the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Thanks to Robert Alexander who surprised us at the end of Mass one evening when he came up to the grate and gave us some pictures he had taken. One was a blown up lovely framed shot of the altar and another was a large close up shot of some of us nuns behind the grate. May God bless him for his thoughtfulness and generosity.

Fr. Bonaventure Sauer, OCD (Oklahoma Province of Discalced Carmelite Friars) did a wonderful job–for nine nights!–of preaching on the readings and sharing Carmelite spirituality through poetry written by the late OCD nun Jessica Powers.  We reflected upon the prayer of Mary through the poet’s Carmelite vision and experience.  We are grateful for Fr. Bonaventure’s love and gift for poetry which enriched us all.

One of the nights newly ordained Fr. Steven Gadberry gave us his first priestly blessing after mass. He even brought in his dog for us to meet and pet over the grate. He drove all the way from Batesville to celebrate the mass on “Youth Night”. The music was done by “Team Jesus” and was truly inspirational as was all the music from each parish choir.  We thank all who participated to make beautiful liturgies and join us in prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel!
