Spring is in the Air

Recently there was a sunny day here in central Arkansas!  So in the brisk of the cool morning I grabbed the camera to capture the tender beginnings of the new life popping up in our cloister preau (a.k.a., courtyard).

We have had lots and lots of spring rain, for which we are grateful, of course. But when the sky is blue and the sun is shining brightly, it seems to say to the spirit, "all is well!"

Enjoy a few shots and another one of our quite unprofessional home videos!

The sparrows at the bird feeder right outside the room where I work in the monastery are to blame for my distractions (at least the ones that keep me from working)! But they are so cute, aren't they? And God knows when just one of them falls to the ground (Mt. 10:29)!  If He watches over them so scrupulously I can also enjoy them for a few minutes. I hope you can, too, for three minutes and 22 seconds:

Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.
And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Ahhh! Parables in front of our eyes!!! If God feeds these lovely sparrows, why do we worry so much? I think it’s just a matter of letting Him take the helm and everything else will follow.
