First Profession of Vows

We give thanks to God as we celebrate two First Professions!

Dear Friends,

It is with joy and gratitude we announce the First Profession of Sr. Marie Therese of Christ the Redeemer on Saturday, August 6, 2022, the Feast of the Transfiguration. Sr. Marie Therese is on her silent retreat of solitude right now preparing for the day she will vow herself to Almighty God in poverty, chastity and obedience. Our other novice, Sr. Josefina Rose of Jesus, will make her Vows in a couple of months, so stay tuned!

First Profession is the next step in religious life towards a final commitment of Solemn Profession. Sister will have five total years of temporary vows until Solemn Profession of Vows. First profession marks the end of the Novitiate time while initial formation continues on at a different level. As a temporarily professed sister she will live more deeply our way of life as a Carmelite nun. As a vowed religious she will be living her baptismal consecration to its fullest degree. Her life takes on a different character as she shares the very life of Jesus, her Spouse, who was poor, chaste and obedient to the Father.
