Clothing Ceremony

On Holy Trinity Sunday, June 15, 2025, our two postulants Renee Kendall and Angelica Dizon received the habit of the Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and their new names and titles. Renee is now Sister Beatrice Yona of the Holy Word of God and Angelica is Sister Karith Michael of the Sorrowful Mother. They are now novices and official members of our Carmelite community in Little Rock, Arkansas.

What a happy and long-awaited day for postulants Renee and Angelica. They prepared with an eight day silent retreat beforehand, along with our prayers and those of their families and friends. Angelica’s family came from North Carolina to show their love and support of her vocation. Renee’s family (from Kansas) will visit soon. Since the ceremony takes place inside the enclosure, Angelica’s family listened from the chapel. They were able to see her immediately afterwards in the Mass choir before the Sunday Mass celebration.

We are very grateful to God for their willingness to live for Him alone, to answer the call to the cloistered Carmelite life here in our little monastery in Arkansas. Your prayers have been heard by our Lord! We ask for your continued prayers for them and for others discerning a call to our Carmel.
