Annual Visit with our Seminarians
Every year to begin their annual retreat the seminarians from our diocese come to our monastery for mass and a visit. The bishop is the main celebrant joined by priests working in formation to the seminarians (i.e., Msgr. Scott Friend, Vocations Director and assistants Msgr. Richard Oswald, Fr. Reuben Quinteros, and newly ordained Fr. Taryn Whittington).
Each year the spirit our young men bring to us is full of youthful joy, enthusiasm for their vocation, and gentlemanly respect to the nuns. There is never a lack of humor among the group (or among the nuns, for that matter!), and how beautiful it is to see them supporting each other in friendship.
In our community we have a custom of praying for a few priests and seminarians by name on their assigned day of every month. We know they pray for us, too. Let us continue to pray for our future priests!
“How good and pleasant it is when brothers live in unity!”
