Advent Retreat Online 2021

Advent is here, believe it or not! What better time to go on a retreat than during these days of preparation for Christmas? Even in the midst of the hustle and bustle this time of year, you can take time apart to focus on the true meaning of this joyous season. All you have to do is find a quiet place to view the presentation and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart.

A Carmelite Advent

We are glad to share with you the efforts of our Carmelite Friars from Paris who have much to share for your spiritual enrichment. This time we glean from the spirituality of St. Therese of Lisieux, the Carmelite known as the “Little Flower”, whose doctrine of spiritual childhood gained her the title Doctor of the Church. The friars have combined the wisdom of St. Therese with the Good Shepherd Catechesis for children, a popular and highly successful method inspired by Maria Montessori (if you aren’t familiar with it please take a look here and know there is HOPE for the Catholic formation of our children today!).

“To involve adults and children in a religious experience in which the religious values of the child are predominant, keeping in mind that the contemplative nature of the child indicates to the adult a certain way of drawing near to God.” —The United States Association of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGSUSA).
